Working with start-ups to develop, test and market innovative and sustainable construction solutions.
Our goal is key to improve the way we build and to provide construction solutions to some of the world’s major challenges, such as urbanization and climate change.
We will not limit the scope of our collaboration with start-ups to the construction and building materials industry. We will open it to different areas such as digitalization (data analytics), automation and robotics, process, sustainability.
However the projects should be applicable for the construction and building materials industry.
This is not the scope of LH-Accelerator. We will organize a Demo Day where angel investors and venture capitalists will check out your technology and listen to your pitch.
The purpose of the program is to support development of applicant’s ideas and business. Should the development made by the start-up with the support of LafargeHolcim result in patentable inventions at the end of the Program, LafargeHolcim and the applicant shall discuss the corresponding ownership on a case by case basis.
Preferably, we expect you to be on site during the program. This benefits you because you can take advantage of the numerous learning opportunities, networking and coaching that will be provided.
However, if this is not possible for you to be around, you will have to come on site to participate to the 3 major sessions of the program (the On-boarding journey on May 23-25 2018, the Summer Camp session from July 10-13, 2018 and the Demo Day on November 19th, 2018.
We run a very hands-on program and spend time working one on one with each start-up so we purposely limit the size of our cohorts to 10 companies.
The CEO and at least one other key team member must be prepared to participate fully in the program, including all required preparation sessions as well as the Onboarding journey and the Summer camp. These are intensive events that require full-time commitment in order for you to make the most of these opportunities.
The Applicant and LafargeHolcim will sign a non-disclosure agreement. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee. The information on your application remains absolutely confidential and is restricted to the selection committee.
We cover in-country or international costs associated with traveling up to 300€ per participant for each session (Onboarding journey, Summer Camp and Demo Day sessions. We also provide accommodation and full-board during those sessions.
However, LH-Accelerator will not take in charge the other costs (travels and accommodation) incurred for start-ups wishing to be hosted at the R&D Center during the 6 months program.
The accelerator program office and event sessions (Onboarding journey, Summer Camp and Demo Day) will take place in the LafargeHolcim R&D Center located in Saint Quentin Fallavier, near Lyon, France.
